Cultural Event, CasaBlanca Moroccan Restaurant Sacramento

I'm glad I decided to get over myself (cleanse diet) and take Megan to Casablanca Moroccan here in Sacramento. She has her first exhibition this Tuesday at her new high school and this was her cultural project choice for this quarter.

We were spoiled by the owner Moritt and his wife Rashid. Moritt was very entertaining and since being his first guests of the evening, a short history lesson and a couple of presents such as a bottle of rose water. It's used in many of their dishes such as the 'honey chicken" with mascarpone and almond pictured above. Just don't take a swig of the water. ICKKKKKKK! It has many health benefits. So we will use it for cooking and also as a skin astringent.

I had one bite of everything. She learned about the different spices used in the cuisine, benefits of rosewater and argan oil (ha ha thought she would have listened to me about that one)We had a blast. It's an event. When you step into Casablanca you feel like you have left the states for a nice spell having dinner prepared and served for you by your Moroccan grandmother. Very homey, warm, truly inviting...Thanks Megan. Great idea.

p/s bellydancing too at grandmas. I've got megan on youtube!
